Rihanna and Chris Brown

Published by nicolelamarco at 11:35 am under Uncategorized Edit This

The mega pop/rock star, Rihanna was beat up by her boyfriend, Chris Brown. Apparently, Chris Brown received a text message from another woman. Rihanna got upset and the picture above is the result. That same night they were both scheduled to perform at the Grammys. Then, they both disappeared. Poof! Gone. I can understand why Chris Brown would be hiding. He should be. But Rihanna? She got beat up by her boyfriend, like (unfortunately) a lot of girls and women do. SO why is Rihanna hiding? She had to be subpoenaed to testify in court against Chris Brown. That means she is not going to testify willingly. What the hell? Rihanna is a role model and a leader whether she likes it or not. She chose to be a celebrity and be in the public eye. She is leading our girls by showing them that they should not talk about abuse, they should be ashamed of it, and they shouldn’t seek justice! Rihanna has been seen out and about just as Chris Brown has. However, what disturbs me is that Rihanna has not said anything about being beat up. She hasn’t talked about it at all. There are thousands of preteens, teens and grown women out there who need to hear her story. But, maybe they shouldn’t hear her story because she has yet to stand up for herself. Rihanna also said (if I remember right) that she helped provoke the situation. Is she really taking some responsibility for her boyfriend’s choice to hit her? What the hell is that about? No one has any rights to lay their hands on another human being unless it is self-defense - bottom line.
